Taylor Momsen, what happened?

It seems these days that everyone is trying to get older. You see kids smoking and drinking from thirteen years old and dressing waaaaaay older than they should. Its scary. I mean, take Taylor Momsen for example. She was great as Jenny on Gossip Girl and I think her band the Pretty Reckless is awesome, but look at her. In the past year her image has gone from cute girl next door to someone who wears barely any clothes. It's not that I have anything against Taylor or the whole grunge look, believe me I love it. But is saying things such as "My best friend is my vibrator" such a great idea? Hmm, I don't think so.

She also said on her twitter page "I'm not trying to be a role model" and if your kids follow her then she "doesn't care". As I said before, I like her, but really? I like some of her grunge looks, but theres a difference between grungeand strippers. I'm laughing as I write this because I realise I prbably sound like a old-fashioned grandma right now, but I'm not! I swear. Me and my friends (your typical London teenagers) were talking about Taylor, and the majority preferred the old Taylor. So I think maybe lose the suspenders in the next picture, darling...

We used to see her out and about with a smile on her face, now her trademark panda eyes and "i don't care" grimace are all we see. She recently flashed the audience at one of her shows in New York. Come on...

I'm interested in what you people think, let me know :)

Shear Gear

Shearling: it's everywhere. It dominated the catwalk at Burberry Prorsum and made appearances at Kurt Geiger, Topshop Unique and more. What better way to stay warm this winter? These beautifully made jackets, coats, shoes and gloves will have you wishing it was colder just to wrap up in one of them. Here are some of my favourite ways to wear one of this season's biggest trends.

Getting it Right.

I don't know about you, but it seems like every celebrity in sight is hailed in numerous magazines and blogs as having "great personal style". Some of them have stylists, some of them are just trying to seek attention and some of them have genuine style. So how do we tell the difference between the Alexa's and the Gaga's? The next few people get it right everytime, and their outfits haven't been personally selected by Rachel Zoe or a boardroom of executives. They have genuine style.

London Calling
Alexa Chung always looks good. Always. It's almost annoying, except we like her too much for it to be. She has quintessential English style, and her tomboyish denim shorts and dungarees have become a major trend.

Nothing comes close to the Golden Coast
LC's laid back day clothes exude Californian chill, and she always looks good on a night out with a bodycon skirt and Chanel bag in hand. With her long locks and big sunglasses, this is the  Californian girl.

Role Models

Sasha Pivovarova adventurously plays with textures, colours and accessories to give us the perfect balance of fun and sophistication. Se always has at least one exciting and unusual element in her outfits, crazy patterned jeans, flowers in her hair, frilly jackets; you name it, she's got it.

Kool and Kollected

Karlie Kloss. She's an All-American-girl-next-door-supermodel-chemistry-taking teenager all rolled into one. She may be only seventeen, but her outfits are certainly beyond her time. Karlie is a chameleon, she can look girly, edgy, cute, sophisticated and more.

Confessions of an 80s kid...

Okay, so I have a confession to make. I'm a little bit obsessed by the 80s. Just a little. I know the clashing prints and high waisted leggings can be tacky and seem so completely out of style, but I can't help it. I'm an 80s girl.

I also have a new obsession with rollerblades, and as I was skating down the street with my friend, an old woman didn't think I looked so hot. She thumped me on the back and said "What are you doing? What do you think this is, the 80s?"

Golden Girls

Thanks to my fellow bloggers Brenty and angelaseeangelablog, this next post is all about the bigB.

Balmain's collection was inspiring, beautiful and (there really are no other words), amazing. With their gold and black fierce dresses, tomboyish chic bow ties and sky high heels, I've learnt one thing: get ready for Balmain.

I love the gold dresses, they're glamorous, rebellious and beautifully made. The proportions really work too, the wide shoulder pads Balmain is known for get balanced out by the tight fitting dress. There is only one word, Wow.

But, if your not one of the lucky people who can afford to whip out a couple of thousand bucks for a dress, then here's how to do it for less. Just remember, gold, gold, gold.

And finally, here's the runway show itself. Enjoy, and tell me what you think x

What I've been Listening to...

And we thought Topshop couldn't get any better...

As a big fan of the shop, I didn't really think Topshop could get much better. The endless party dresses, amazing shoes and fun jewellery all for a good price, what more do we need? Then came Topshop Make Up. I went to the flagship store on Oxford Street the other day, and immediately was drawn to the make up counter. Eye liners, mascara, nail polish, and not expensive? This must be too good to be true.

I bought the Nail Polish in Daredevil, a deep purpley, and after applying it two days ago, its still there. And thats why they're my favourite shop.

Caught up in the Maze

Heeellloooo. So today I was sitting by the fountains at Trafalgar Square with some of my friends, as you do, and we noticed this giant maze made of hedges. Pretty weird to come across in the centre of London, but we went in anyhoo. It had street signs and pictures inside, and we got pretty lost to say the least. But it was a fun day out, and anyone who's bored of this English "summer" should go check it out.

here it is....
